How can you help?

Donate 100 school bags for vulnerable children and orphans

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

With the festive season fast approaching, the Umgeni Community Empowerment Centre (UCEC) is filled with excitement as we prepare for our upcoming crèche graduation ceremony for orphans and vulnerable children, scheduled to take place on 27 November 2026. Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfil our charitable commitments without the generosity and support of our caring community. We therefore humbly appeal to you for a donation of 100 school bags to help make this special occasion a memorable and meaningful experience for the children. Your generous contribution would go a long way towards supporting these children and bringing smiles to their faces as they celebrate this important milestone in their lives. Any assistance you can offer would be sincerely appreciated. UCEC is able to provide a Section 18A tax certificate, upon request and where applicable, for qualifying donations received. Call us on 031 824 7951 We are currently located at 16 Mona Road, Durban CBD, 4001

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
