Awaken Yavuka Imbokodo (AYI) Youth Talent Show & Arts Celebration On 24 September 2026, Awaken Yavuka Imbokodo (AYI) will host a Youth Talent Show & Arts Celebration aimed at empowering, developing, and showcasing the talents of young people within our community. The event will provide a platform for learners and youth to express their creativity through various art forms, including performing arts, visual arts, music, dance, poetry, drawing, and garment design. In addition to celebrating talent, the event seeks to promote self-confidence, cultural pride, leadership, and positive youth participation. Hosted on Heritage Day, the celebration will encourage young people to embrace their identity, culture, and unique abilities while fostering unity and community engagement. Families, schools, community leaders, and local stakeholders will be invited to support and encourage the next generation of artists, performers, and future leaders. The event forms part of AYI's ongoing commitment to youth development, skills enhancement, and creating opportunities for young people to grow, shine, and contribute positively to society.

Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
