Help Youth Potential South Africa - YOUPSA by donating colouring books and coloured pencils for rural children to experience healing, creativity & joy

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Children need creativity, joy and hope! The vast majority of rural children do not have access to paper, colouring supplies, arts materials, books, computers, internet, toys, or any educational materials. We would like to ask you to help us provide our children with colouring books and coloured pencils (or vouchers for this). This will give them lifesaving creative stimulation, comfort and joy. As you might know from your personal experience, art helps you to enter a state of concentration where distractions and worries disappear. Art is very calming for our children, who have a lot of trauma in their daily environment, like broken homes, violence, alcohol and drug abuse. For them, art is also a way to become whole and heal. Please donate. Thank You!

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
