Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

A food garden helps children and the community learn how to grow their own healthy food. It teaches important life skills like responsibility, teamwork, and caring for the environment. To start and maintain a garden, we need basic supplies and tools such as: - Seeds and seedlings (spinach, tomatoes,) - Soil and compost - Watering cans and wheelbarrowa - Gardening tools (spades, rakes, hoes, trowels) - Gloves and boots for protection - Fencing or shade netting to protect plants - Buckets and wheelbarrows for carrying soil and water - Educational posters or charts to teach children about planting and nutrition These items help us create a hands-on learning space where children grow food, understand nature, and build skills that benefit them for life.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
