Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Volunteer Invitation Walk the Spirit of Mandela Day With Us This Mandela Day, we invite you, your family, friends, school, or community group to join Woodrock Animal Rescue for our Mandela Day Walk of Giving — a meaningful 6.7km walk through the beautiful Hennops River Valley inspired by Nelson Mandela’s 67 minutes of service. As you journey across our farm sanctuary, you’ll meet many of the more than 500 rescued animals who call Woodrock home — from dogs and cats to donkeys, ducks, and farm animals — each with a story of resilience, hope, and second chances. Visitors are encouraged to bring along donations from our Woodrock Mandela Day Wish List. Donations do not need to be newly purchased items. Gently used blankets, cleaning supplies, pet food, household items, clothing, and other essentials from your home or office can make an immediate and meaningful impact. There is something incredibly powerful about giving from what you already have. As a registered NPO and PBO, Woodrock relies entirely on public support. Every contribution helps fund rescue operations, medical care, sterilisation programmes, feeding schemes, rehabilitation, and successful rehoming. We would be honoured to have you walk beside us this Mandela Day. Other Ways to Get Involved • Volunteer for the day by assisting with kennel painting, gardening, blanket washing, maintenance projects, and outreach support. • Donate much-needed items from our Mandela Day Wish List. • Share your experience and help spread awareness for rescue animals in need. This Mandela Day: Walk with purpose. Walk with compassion.
