Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

**Help Us Equip 1,000 Learners with Stationery for the 2027 School Year** For many families living below the breadline, the start of a new school year brings a very real challenge: choosing between putting food on the table and buying the stationery their children need for school. Without basic items like notebooks, pens, pencils and rulers, learners can start the year already at a disadvantage. They may struggle to participate fully in class, complete their work, or feel confident and prepared alongside their peers. Johannesburg Dream Center has been running its Stationery Project since 2016 to help close this gap. With the support of donors, companies and volunteers, we have distributed thousands of stationery packs to learners across Johannesburg, helping children start the school year with dignity, confidence and hope. For the 2027 school year, our goal is to collect and distribute **1,000 stationery packs by 9 February 2027**. The packs will be distributed through schools in Johannesburg, with teachers helping us identify the learners most in need so that the support reaches children who genuinely need it. Each complete stationery pack is valued at approximately **R200** and gives a learner the basic tools they need to start the school year prepared. Supporters can donate complete packs, individual stationery items, or financially sponsor packs. **PRIMARY SCHOOL PACK — AGES 7–13** Each primary school pack should contain: - 7 × A4 softcover books - 4 × blue pens - 4 × pencils - 1 × 30 cm ruler - 1 × sharpener - 1 × eraser - 1 × glue stick - 1 × small scissors - 1 × pencil case - 1 × small pack of colouring pencils **HIGH SCHOOL PACK — AGES 13–18** Each high school pack should contain: - 9 × A4 softcover books - 7 × blue pens - 3 × pencils - 1 × 30 cm ruler - 1 × sharpener - 1 × eraser - 2 × highlighters - 1 × glue stick - 1 × pencil case - 1 × maths set, including compass, protractor, ruler and set squares We also welcome additional school essentials that can make an even bigger difference, including **new school bags, calculators, dictionaries, school uniforms, school shoes, arts and craft supplies and other school items**. A new school bag is especially valuable, as it gives a learner a proper place to carry their books and stationery and helps them arrive at school feeling prepared and proud. **Where will the stationery go?** The stationery packs will be distributed to **under-resourced primary and high school learners in Johannesburg** during February 2027. JDC works with schools and teachers to identify learners most in need and to ensure fair and meaningful distribution. **Why does this matter?** These packs are about far more than stationery. They help children participate in class, complete their schoolwork, begin the year prepared and avoid falling behind simply because their families cannot afford the basics. For many of the learners we support, receiving a stationery pack also restores a sense of dignity, self-worth and hope. By giving a child the tools to learn, you are giving them a better chance to succeed. **How you can help** You can support this need by donating complete stationery packs, collecting individual stationery items, sponsoring packs financially, or organising a stationery drive through your company, school, church, community group or team. Every pack matters. Every learner matters. And every contribution helps a child start 2027 with the tools, confidence and hope they deserve.
