Help Lethabo le Khutso Adult Care by donating toys and games for the workshop activities for our adults with autism
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
When most people think of toys and games, they imagine them as something “just for children.” But for adults living with Autism, these items serve a much deeper and life-enhancing purpose. 🔹 Stimulation & Engagement Toys, puzzles, board games, and sensory activities provide mental stimulation that helps adults with Autism remain engaged, focused, and active in their daily routines. 🔹 Skill Development Games encourage important life skills such as problem-solving, memory, turn-taking, patience, and following instructions—all of which support independence and confidence. 🔹 Social Interaction Group games create safe and enjoyable opportunities for social interaction. They help foster teamwork, communication, and a sense of belonging within the facility. 🔹 Emotional Well-being Fun activities reduce stress and anxiety, offering comfort and joy. Sensory toys, in particular, help calm and regulate emotions, which is vital for overall well-being. 🔹 Physical Benefits Movement-based games (e.g., ball games, outdoor play equipment) help with motor skills, coordination, and physical health. What We Need: • Board games (simple, clear rules – e.g., jenja ,snakes & ladders, memory game) • Puzzles (3 pieces to 36 pieces) • Sensory toys (stress balls, fidget tools, textured objects) • Outdoor play items (balls, beanbags, ten-pin-bowling set) • Arts & crafts supplies (colouring books, clay, paints) Why Your Support Matters: By donating toys and games, you’re not just giving “playthings.” You’re giving adults with Autism the chance to learn, connect, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. Your gift turns everyday moments into opportunities for growth, happiness, and dignity.
