Help Shine For hope developers by Educational Resources for Parental Involvement in Education Workshops

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

At Shine for Hope Developers, we understand that a child’s success in school is closely linked to the support they receive at home. Many parents in our communities are eager to be involved in their children's education but lack the tools, training, or confidence to do so effectively. To bridge this gap, we provide multilingual parent guides, home activity kits, literacy and numeracy flashcards, phonics workbooks, and simple video tutorials—all designed to empower caregivers to support their children’s learning journey, especially in reading and writing from Grades R to 3. We are seeking donor support to help us expand this work—designing, printing, and distributing these resources to more families in under-resourced communities. With your contribution, we can build stronger home-school partnerships and create a culture of learning that starts at home and lasts a lifetime.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
