Help Human Rights Screened Foundation by Recording Hand Signal for Help Info Videos for Screening on Social Media platforms to create awareness
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
The Human Rights Screened Foundation is seeking an experienced volunteer camera operator/videographer to help us film short educational videos demonstrating the Hand Signal for Help in different everyday situations, including during video calls. Through carefully staged scenarios, we aim to teach the public how to recognise this discreet request for help and respond safely and sensitively. The videos will support our wider campaign to raise awareness of gender-based violence and connect people with support. The videos will be shared across TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other digital platforms, helping us reach people across South Africa. We need assistance with filming, framing, lighting and clear sound. Access to filming equipment would be appreciated, and video-editing skills would be an added advantage. Filming dates and locations will be arranged with the volunteer. Your time and skills can help turn awareness into practical action, bringing a message of safety, support and hope to more communities.

Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
