Help Ivatha by Sponsoring a seat for Students
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Money is tight for many of our families in the community we serve. Of our 125 learners, about 35% pay in full, about 15% pay part of the fee, and the other half can't pay anything. At the same time, our running costs keep going up, including rent, transport and cleaning materials. The fees we collect cover less every year, and we can't afford to hire more facilitators. Meanwhile, more families keep coming to us for help. About 40 learners, living in informal settlements and RDP housing, need a place at Ivatha, and we don't have the money to take them in. You can change that by sponsoring one of these children for the 2027 school year. Your sponsorship covers their place for the full year and helps us pay for the facilitators they need: Grade R to 7: R5,400 for the year (R450 a month) Grade 8 to 11: R6,000 for the year (R500 a month) Grade 12: R7,200 for the year (R600 a month) You can pay in one amount or monthly, as long as you commit to the full year. You can also share a sponsorship with friends, family or colleagues, as long as the full year is covered. A child's place is confirmed once their sponsorship is in place. We will keep sponsors updated on how the year is going, without sharing any child's name or photo.

Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
