Help Human Rights Screened Foundation by Stationery for Preparing a multilingual GBVF Awareness & Safety Book

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

We are developing a practical handbook covering prevention, safety, victims’ rights, the Hand Signal for Help and access to support. Our aim is to distribute it in print and online throughout every province, reaching even the most remote rural areas, with editions in major South African languages and widely spoken international languages used in South Africa. At a time such as this, every citizen needs access to clear, practical information about safety and support. Even a small stationery donation can help us prepare and share that knowledge. Please support this essential work. The Human Rights Screened Foundation welcomes donations of A4 paper, pens, pencils, notebooks, folders, highlighters, staplers and staples. These supplies will support research, draft reviews, community consultations and the preparation of GBVF awareness materials.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
