How can you help?

Help Africa Food for Thought with 50 volunteers for creating activity pages for children in our preschools.

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Preschools in South Africa are a critical part of our education system. Help our preschoolers develop their skills by creating activity pages - these can focus on colouring, cutting, basic writing or any other skills you can think of. You are welcome to handwrite or use a computer to make your sheets. Printed sheets should be dropped at our office (106 Mimosa St, Helderkriun) during business hours. If you would prefer to email a digital copy, we would appreciate an accompanying donation to cover the costs of printing.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
