Help Human Rights Screened Foundation with 10 volunteers for Sourcing Prizes for our Hand Signal Campaign F/R
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to Help Us Secure Prizes for a Life-Saving Campaign We need your help – urgently. We are launching a national fundraising competition to support the rollout of the Universal Hand Signal for Help in South Africa. This discreet signal can save lives by allowing someone in danger to silently ask for help. But too few South Africans know what it means. To change that, we’re producing high-quality awareness videos in South African and languages and other international spoken languages in SA – reaching people in communities where speaking out isn't always possible. We will be reaching the rest of Africa as well through our online campaign. We are looking for volunteers to help source the following prize elements for the competition: • A weekend stay for two at one of Cape Town’s top hotels • Weekend car hire • A wine tasting experience at a local wine estate • A hot air balloon ride • A boat trip around the Cape Peninsula • A cable car experience up Table Mountain • A picnic at Boulders Beach (penguin viewing included!) This prize will form the incentive for a public fundraising competition, where couples can enter at R200 per entry. We’re asking you to open your network, use your influence, and help us secure these experiences. Your efforts could directly contribute to saving lives by getting this vital campaign into homes, schools, and public spaces across South Africa. We will supply you with the relative info packs indicating the return on investment for potential sponsors etc. Let’s act now – because silence should never be a death sentence.

Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
