Help Get Informed Youth Development Centre with 100 volunteers for Women's month celebration

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

This Women’s Day, Get Informed Youth Development Centre will host a transformative event themed “Empower Her: Women in Business”, aimed at uplifting survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by equipping them with entrepreneurial skills. The event will bring together successful women in business including beauty professionals, nail technicians, and candle makers to share their journeys and train GBV survivors in practical, income-generating skills. Through this dialogue and hands-on engagement, we aim to foster healing, build financial independence, and create pathways to self-employment. Guests will have the opportunity to support the cause by purchasing tickets or curated hampers. Proceeds will be used to cover training materials and mentorship sessions, enabling survivors to start their own ventures. Let’s celebrate Women’s Day by investing in resilience, restoring dignity, skills, and empowerment.

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
