Help Kids Haven with 3 volunteers for checking our menu to connect to food quantities

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

We provide all meals to children living at Kids Haven and breakfast and lunch to our preschoolers and lunch to young people at our Youth Hub. We follow a simple menu but are finding that our current team don't have precise quantities for the menu but are cooking the way 'it's always been done'. We want to be able to connect shopping to cooking to buying and also to donations that come in. We need a caterer or food specialist who can do a desktop analysis of what we serve to tell us what we need and also to help us consider some new healthy meal options that we may not have thought of. We can share our menus if you can calculate the quantities we should be using per meal, whether for 25, 50, 75, or 100 children and young people. You need to be budget-conscious!

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
