Responsibilities • Develop and execute the Public Relations (PR) strategy and plan • Identify and execute promotional and thought leadership opportunities • Propose new, creative ideas for boosting the reputation of the organization through promotional activities • Collaborate with the marketing team on company-wide messaging platforms such as the website, case study development and social media • Identify and execute wraparound PR activities in support of key events • Build and maintain key relationships within media and industry • Own and drive strategic communications initiatives • Identify a road map and strategy for maintaining the momentum created with the GirlCode community • Provide regular updates to management on insights obtained through interactions and published research • Campaign promotion execution and project management for media placements • Recommend and seek out appropriate media channels and platforms to promote and amplify messaging of marketing campaigns • Manage the copy development required for any media initiatives, ensuring assets are created on time and in full (OTIF) to meet publication deadlines • Serve as the primary liaison with the publications for media initiatives • Seek to build and maintain strong relationships with media Requirements • Degree/Diploma in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related field • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a senior Technology Communications role • Outstanding communications skills, including excellent writing, editorial and messaging – in particular, distilling complex ideas into accessible copy for different audiences • Experience working with external influencers • Demonstrable experience in strategic messaging creation and development • Exceptional understanding of the tech and consultant media, and experience working with media
