Ya Bana Village for the children's kitchens and mothers cook 520 meals per day for our children, our early learning centre's children and employees. We need assistance from a professional/qualified chef/food technologist/dietician to develop a delicious and nutritious winter and summer menu for our children, as well as recipes for the meals. This menu and recipes will make our food stock control and ordering much more efective.  This task can be done anywhere.

You can volunteer from anywhere in the world and for as little as a 20 minute session.  Every lesson you give is meaningful to a child learning to read.  All you need is a WiFi connection and your own device.  Volunteers will need to provide  a copy of their ID document, sign a volunteer contract and complete an hour of virtual training before they teach their first session.

Please volunteer to source or collect or buy or sew or knit, baby clothing, blankets, nappies, toiletries for Mama Roo bags which provide comfort to mom's who attend many Johannesburg public health clinics for vital checkups, immunization and healthcare screenings. These provide an incentive to return for baby and mom's vital health checks. Set up a toiletry / nappy collection box at your office - sew drawstring toiletry bags - knit clothes/blankets/beanies - pack bags at a packing party ! Community hours for scholars will be given.

We are looking for individuals with PhDs to comes and do a 30 minute ONLINE talk/presentation based on their thesis for learners from grade 4-12. 
This is for a great cause and we are hoping to inspire some children to better their academic achievements and pursue further studies!

The segment is called “The Doctor will explain to you now” and it happens every second Tuesday. 

If you are interested in getting involved, please let us know! You will need to send a brief summary of your PhD thesis (super brief- paragraph max) to get the ball rolling.
