56.8 million people are estimated to require palliative care every year including 31.1 million prior to and 25.7 million near the end of life. The majority (67%) are adults over 50 years old and at least 7% are children. The majority (54%) are non-decedents who need palliative care prior to their last year of life. The burden of severe illness and health related suffering, and the corresponding need for palliative care, are immense. Yet palliative care is still not accessible to most people in need, especially in low and middle-income countries. We need help to increase this figure.

The Find Your Life Enrichment Programme has established a  Job Creation and Skills Development Centre aimed at  addressing the very critical problem of unemployment in the township of Mabopane, Winterveld, Pretoria. The Centre aims to equip unemployed young people within the age group of 20–35, to become self-reliant, through access to employable skills, job preparation, job placement, and entrepreneurship development. 
We recently launched a crowdfunding campaign to try and mobilise resources because we are struggling to attain these goals due to a shortage of some vitally important components. This is hindering our capacity to deliver this service to its full extent. In particular, we need support to get 10 computers for the skills development component of the program, and other items outlined on page 3 of this document.  Please see further details below, including a brief background to this request.
We need volunteers who can help to raise awareness of our crowdfunding page by fowarding our promotional tools to their contacts in the social media.

How does registration work?
1. Order a (FREE) swab kit online
Answer a few simple questions about yourself to make sure you’ll be able to safely donate if needed. If it’s a yes, then you’ll be directed to a page where you can request your swab kit online.
2. Once received- swab your cheeks and return your kit
Swab the inside of your cheeks and send the swabs back to DKMS (there are instructions on the pack that you’ll be sent). The swabs will then be analyzed in our lab to determine your HLA (tissue) characteristics – this is how DKMS (DKMS is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders) match donors and patients.
3. You will be added to the register
Once your samples has been analyzed, you will be added to the register and you will be "available" for patients all around the world who are searching for a donor. Amazing!

How does a blood stem cell donation work?
1. You are a match: If you come up as a potential match for someone, the donation process can begin. Our team will be in touch as soon as possible.
2. Health check: We will ask you for a blood sample to confirm that you are the best possible match for the person in need of a transplant.
3. Peripheral blood stem cell donation: In 90% of cases, stem cells are collected peripherally (apheresis). This involves taking stem cells directly from the bloodstream. You’ll be able to have this done as an outpatient and it does not require surgery.
4. The patient receives your blood stem cells: The collected blood stem cells are transplanted to the patient, in a procedure similar to a blood transfusion.
5. A second chance at life: Your job is done and your incredible donation will help to give someone a second chance at life!

We're looking for someone to assist the RJC as a Board member and support a team. The expectation of the Board member includes:
• Attend monthly board meetings (1,5 – 2 hours long, usually online)
• Oversee the development of a strategy for marketing, communication and stakeholder management
• Oversee the implementation of the strategy.
While this is an unpaid position, it presents exciting possibilities for personal growth and service. For example, we are about to commence a project to refresh the existing website, based on input from a team of international students. The aim is to better engage with volunteers, to encourage broader application of restorative justice in communities, homes, schools and the workplace, and to make it easier for donors to support the RJC financially.
