Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Gender-based violence (GBV) remains a tragic reality in South Africa with our president naming it our shadow epidemic and labelling it a Human Rights issue. The country is crying out for solutions and increasingly both men and women are desperate to get involved in the fight - but don’t know how. There is a great deal of focus on creating awareness, but precious few interventions that deal effectively with the root causes. We need to go a lot further than simply creating awareness of the problem. To reduce and ultimately eliminate gender-based violence we need to first understand why it is happening and then we need to put in place action-oriented interventions which effectively address the root causes. Father A Nation (FAN) has made great strides in both these areas; identifying why GBV is happening and developing programmes and interventions to prevent it from happening. FAN is a registered Non-Profit Company and Public Benefit Organisation which has been running programmes throughout South Africa since 2013. See www.fatheranation.co.za for details of our many interventions.

  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
