The goal of this programme is to empower and support aspiring GirlCoders by providing guidance, resources, and mentorship as they navigate their IT career paths. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise, inspire the next generation of women in tech, and make a meaningful impact on their professional journeys. Who We’re Looking For: We’re seeking IT professionals who meet the following criteria: Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the STEM industry. Technical Expertise: Strong skills in software development, including proficiency in relevant programming languages and technologies. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and a genuine interest in mentoring and supporting others. Advocacy for Diversity: Commitment to promoting gender diversity, equity, and inclusion in the tech industry. Programme Highlights: The mentorship programme is designed to address the skills gap in the IT field by: Offering mentees a broader perspective on career options and opportunities in tech. Guiding them toward identifying and developing the skills needed for success in the industry. Programme Structure: Duration: 9 weeks. Commitment: Mentors and mentees will meet once a week for one hour. Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
