Help Lesedi la Batho by Donating Sewing Machines for A Sewing Initiative Empowering Women to Earn an Income

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Lesedi la Batho's core vision is to uplift the youth in our community to become purposeful, contributing and independent members of society. We offer free skills training to the community, as well as job placement assistance, and social enterprise development so that upskilled individuals can start a successul small business. We operate a fair trade project called Kago-Entle ("a beautiful creation") which employs 12 women who have completed our sewing and beading skills training course, to produce quality and unique corporate gifting items. Being part of a growing project provides the women with improved self-esteem, a sense of community and belonging, as well as an income to support their families. Kago-Entle is completely unfunded and growing slowly but steadily - making the most of the few resources we have. We are in most desperate need of sewing machines to continue and expand our work. Please consider donating a used or new sewing machine - be it industrial or domestic; straight stitcher or overlocker - to our worthy cause. Alternatively, cash donations most welcome (one brand new, good quality sewing machine costs about R1800). Tax receipts available upon request for any donation (goods or money). Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
