The Carel du Toit Trust and Centre programmes are purpose driven to holistically support deaf children (0 - 10 years) to acquire functional speech and language and to overcome associated issues related to hearing impairments Therapies at the Centre include speech, audiological, occupational and social services. Exercises which involve balance, movements, coordination *(Wiifit) are encouraged in free time and are built into sports activities and therapies at the Centre. What we do to advance physicality in deaf children: Holistic development of the deaf children, using the Carel du Toit methodology and hearing technology (cochlear implants, hearing aids, baha's) to make it possible for the child to hear and talk and live a 'normal' life in a hearing society. Actively engage deaf children in sports, games and occupational therapy exercises to improve symptoms related to head or eye movement, mobility and gait. At the Carel du Toit Centre we address the overall health of the deaf child including other co-morbidities which may exist in the child.
