Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

During these trying times, our incredible team continues to work at the front lines to support vulnerable people, which can lead to vicarious forms of trauma and ultimately take a toll on one's mental health. If you’re passionate about mental health awareness, team building, counselling or capacity building, work with our team to cope and continue providing service excellence for our community. Team Building: volunteers with experience in HR, healthy dynamics in the workplace, industrial psychology or team building who are passionate about bringing people together would be warmly welcomed at our community centre to host a group team building event. We have found these events to add substantial value to our team's work ethics, professional relationships and motivation - however seldom have the budget for it. Debriefing Sessions/One-on-one counselling: we're looking for volunteers with experience in counselling/psychology to support our social workers with group or one-on-one debriefing sessions to address and cope with the various forms of trauma they face when dealing closely with difficult cases. This can be done in person at our centre or virtually. Capacity Building workshops: we take pride in an attitude of servant leadership and passion for learning. Our team would greatly benefit from capacity building workshops from professionals interested to help a dedicated organisation improve their service for the community. This can be done in person at our centre or virtually. Please reach out to us at volunteering@lesedilabatho.co.za or respond to this Need here on forgood. Thank you in advance for your interest in working with us to make the Mabopane community a better place for all!

  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
