INVESTING IN FARMING CAN END EXTREME POVERTY Did you know that small scale farmers produce up to 80% of the food consumed in Africa? Many of us don’t pause to think about where our food comes from when we bite into our fresh fruit everyday. Unfortunately, the individuals working to ensure we have good, nutritious food are facing many challenges. Climate change, droughts, locust invasions and a global pandemic are disrupting the process of getting food from the farm to our plates. It is estimated that over 130 million more people will go hungry this year, and farmers are key to changing this devastating reality. "Agriculture is going to be key to regaining momentum in recovery of the COVID-19 pandemic. We need to stay focused on technology, quality education, reinforcing health systems and ensuring gender equality" We all deserve healthy, affordable food and quality nutrition and job opportunities. It is clear that to address the needs of the vulnerable in our society we need to think out of the box. Over the past three months, we’ve tried to do just that, We have distributed over 12 000 foodparcel to vulnerable people across all 9 provinces.. But not enough thus sustainable development goals in needed DONATE https://goodfoodnetwork.co.za/siyakholwa/
