Help Optimystic Bikers against Abuse MCC by donating for items for comfort packs for trauma survivors
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
We are collecting items for comfort packs for survivors of domestic violence, rape and abuse. These packs go a long way to making survivors feel like somebody cares. These packs will be donated and distributed to local first responder service providers. To put these packs together we need donations of the following: Face cloth Plain panties or underwear (female/male) in various sizes Sanitary towels (individually sealed) Comb or brush Hairclips and hairbands Body lotion (travel size) Deodorant (travel size) Soap (bar) Tissues (small packs) Toothpaste (small) Toothbrush Shampoo (travel size) sweets (not chocolates) Small bottled water Lip balm or small Vaseline Small notebook and pen Small colouring book and coloured pencils/crayons Small fidget/squeeze ball Our first drop off point is at the the Big Hole Fleamarket on 29 June 2024. If you are not in Kimberley and would like to support this initiative, please email info@optimystic.za.net for other ways to send donations. Make a difference. #RideWithPride #ConnectedHumanity #TogetherWeCan
Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
