Help EARTH Centre NPC by sponsoring a special needs School for riding therapy

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

*Mohammed* is an 11 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy who used crutches to move around. After a few riding therapy sessions at the EARTH Centre his Teachers were amazed at how much stronger he was. For the first time, Mohammed was now able to sit up in class. After approximately 3 months of riding therapy he was able to walk without crutches and was walking with his legs almost straight. His parents came to the Open Day and thanked the Instructor for the difference the riding therapy had made in the life of their son. Children with disabilities require specialised care by people who are qualified to assist with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Hippo Therapists, as well as Doctors and Psychologists are involved with the Schools that ride at our Centre and review each child’s progress ongoing. Our therapy programmes are created specifically for the children that ride with us and tailored to their individual needs. Children with disabilities from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds need specialised care and therapy too. Realistically however, if a family does not have access to everyday basics such as 3-meals a day, running water, sanitation, secure accommodation, regular employment and adult headed households, therapy for that child will not be a priority and will not happen unless the therapy is sponsored At the EARTH Centre we believe that everyone should have access to therapy, irrespective of their race, creed or ability to pay. Our programmes give the children reason to wake up in the morning, knowing that for one day of the week, they can do something that an able bodied person can…… We don’t perform miracles but we do what we can to improve the lives of these very special children and we do it with love, compassion and integrity respecting their dignity and individuality at all times.
