EARTH Centre NPC

The EARTH Centre provides therapy horse riding for disadvantaged disabled children with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. Disabilities include, but are not limited to, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, Genetic Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Mental retardation, Visual and Hearing impairments and Genetic disorders. 160 children currently ride with us weekly and benefit from the therapy we provide Riding : * strengthens and improves core muscles * helps stretch tight or spastic muscles * improves gross and fine motor skills and balance and co-ordination * promotes independence and encourages decision making * assists in focusing and calming the mind * encourages communication and social skills * enhances the physical and emotional well being It is our privilege to see : * A child whose parents had been told she would probably never walk, take her first faltering steps * A child ride, without the ...
