Elle International is a women’s health and social impact organisation committed to advancing the health, dignity, and empowerment of women and girls across the life course. Our work addresses the intersecting challenges of poverty, gender inequality, stigma, and inadequate access to sexual and reproductive health education, services, and products—from menarche through menopause. Historically rooted in school-based menstrual health interventions, Elle International began by responding to the urgent realities faced by girls in South Africa, where poverty, stigma, and inadequate sanitation continue to disrupt education and wellbeing. Millions of girls miss school during their menstrual cycles due to lack of access to safe, affordable menstrual products, clean water, and functional sanitation facilities, compounded by silence and misinformation around menstruation.
