International Mandela day: 17-18 July 2025

International Mandela day was a success and we couldn't have done it without your support and the support of our fellow less privileged people who spent the night with us telling stories , interacting with others and even sharing a meal for the night to keep them warm around the fire. I should say that without them our event wouldn't have been successful and we hope and pray that all they need they can get and may their lives turn into one that's better than the ones they're living .

MANDELA DAY 2025 *Event Overview* The Galeshewe Youth Network celebrated Mandela Day 2025 with a dynamic 24-hour event at the Northern Cape Theatre from July 17 at 18h00 to July 18 at 14h00, honouring Nelson Mandela’s legacy with kindness and action. *Highlights* • Free Services: Including haircuts, hygiene packs, washing facilities and uplifting attendees. • Food & Fun: Supper, breakfast, and games (soccer, netball, chess, art) energised the crowd. • Giveaway: Clothing, jackets, and blankets brought warmth and joy. • Care: Bathing facilities and overnight camping offered comfort and a sense of connection. • Community Reach: “67mins” at NCU TVET College and Queen’s Garden Park. • Bicycle Resource Centre: The Rotary Bicycle Resource Centre added an extra level of excitement to the events. *Call to Action* Volunteers transformed lives, with some homeless individuals experiencing their first bath in years.
