Galeshewe Youth Network (GYN)

Galeshewe Youth Network (GYN) is a youth-led, community-based organization rooted in the historic township of Galeshewe, Kimberley, in the Northern Cape. Headquartered at the symbolic Mayibuye Uprising Memorial Precinct, GYN serves as a hub for youth development, civic empowerment, and creative expression. Founded to respond to the urgent needs of young people in Galeshewe, GYN envisions a future where the youth are empowered, engaged, and equipped to lead in transforming their communities. Its mission is to mobilize, inspire, and uplift local youth by expanding access to opportunities in education, enterprise, arts, and sports, while promoting active citizenship and preserving the area’s rich heritage.
