Our Mission Our mission is to empower people holistically to live independent, sustainable, and meaningful lives. Our Story The vision for MES was born in 1986 when the Johannesburg East Dutch Reformed Church initiated an outreach programme to provide food parcels to homeless and unemployed people in Hillbrow, Johannesburg’s inner city. Since then, MES has grown and expanded its services to the inner cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town, Gqeberha and Kempton Park, providing holistic support to individuals and communities affected by poverty and homelessness. What We Believe At MES, we believe in creating spaces where hope is possible, values and positive norms are nurtured, people are empowered, human potential is developed, and dignity is restored.
