Kevin Diale’s Journey of Hope and Purpose Kevin Diale was born into a large family and was raised primarily by his grandmother, with support from his mother. Growing up in Johannesburg with his two younger siblings and two cousins, Kevin witnessed his grandmother work tirelessly to ensure that the family had food on the table every day. He was introduced to MES in Grade 9 but could not continue throughout high school due to the distance. His teenage years were challenging, particularly because he did not have a father figure to look up to. After completing his matric finals, Kevin was uncertain about what he wanted to pursue and decided to look for employment. He returned to MES and searched for “Liza”, the only name he remembered from Grade 9. Although there were no job opportunities available at the time, Liza encouraged him to return in January. When he came back, he was disappointed to find that there were still no opportunities. Liza then suggested that he apply for the Joshua Programme, even though applications had already closed. By what Kevin describes as a miracle, he was called for an interview and accepted into the programme on the very day the Joshuas moved into Genesis House. Kevin was filled with joy and knew from that moment that God was at work in his life. Through MES, he was able to rebuild his relationship with God and discover a new direction and purpose. He became involved in the After School Programme (ASP), 10 Days of Hope, an outreach trip to Botswana and the 94.7 Ride Joburg Challenge. Through these experiences, Kevin experienced God’s presence and had the opportunity to share his faith with fellow Joshuas. His journey opened his heart to children and people experiencing homelessness, giving him a desire to serve others and help people find Jesus. Today, driven by purpose and faith, Kevin is pursuing his dream of becoming a professional artist while serving the Lord with obedience and reverence. As he continues cycling for MES, he hopes to inspire the younger men who follow in his footsteps to dream big and strive for greatness. Kevin considers MES his family and prays that others will be impacted by the organisation’s work just as profoundly as he has been. He remains grateful to everyone who has dedicated their lives to serving through MES and prays that God will bless them.
