United for an Inclusive Society
The South African Disability Alliance (SADA) exists to help change this reality. SADA is a united voice for people with disabilities and organizations working to advance disability rights and inclusion in South Africa. Our cause is built on a simple but powerful belief: people with disabilities should be able to participate fully, equally and with dignity in every part of society. We work to promote awareness of disability rights, strengthen the voice of the disability sector and advocate
Disability does not prevent people from having dreams, talents, skills and ambitions. Too often, it is the barriers around people that limit their opportunities. A young person with a disability should have access to education and skills development. A person looking for work should have a fair opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. A wheelchair user should be able to access buildings, transport and public spaces. A person who is deaf should be able to receive information in an accessible way. A person who is blind should be able to access services and information independently. Inclusion means creating opportunities and removing barriers so that everyone can participate. Our Vision SADA seeks to contribute towards an inclusive South Africa where people with disabilities are respected, represented, heard and able to exercise their rights and participate meaningfully in society.
