Being the #ONE to make the life-saving difference

Alleviate the animal care crisis and give an additional 400 animals a chance in life in the coronavirus pandemic. In a few short months, the Covid-19 pandemic has triggered a series of dramatic social and environmental changes. Yet the focus remains resolutely on humans, leaving animals largely out of the picture.

Low and no-income communities are now increasing exponentially due to the economic devastation of Covid-19 in Gauteng, South Africa. One of the most unfortunate and unforeseen impacts of coronavirus is on animals that can no longer be looked after, either due to their owners falling ill or because their owners can no longer afford to feed or care for them. The urgent challenges facing animal welfare today are too big and too interconnected to solve alone. The current circumstances affect animals in all demographic areas, and we recognise that Covid does not care who you are, it affects us all. The effect on animals is devastating as most are finding it increasingly difficult to find food. Project Yap, Snip and Chip! neutering, spaying, micro-chipping, vaccinating and food supply helps secure the health and comfort of dogs and cats. Stop the multiplying of unwanted puppies and kittens during this challenging time. The aim is to prevent over-breeding when there are simply not enough good and sustainable homes for these animals. The goal is no more puppies being born on the streets of vulnerable Johannesburg communities! #zerounwantedanimals Contributing to this project provides healthy, happy lives for dogs like Rocky, Snail and Snoopy, brothers and sisters that came from a litter of 11 puppies.
