More about Valuta Student Center

Valuta Student Center (VSC) is a community-based organisation in Mthwalume dedicated to empowering youth through access, skills, and opportunity. Since 2023, we have supported young people by providing digital access, information services, and hands-on assistance with school, job, and bursary applications. Many community members struggle with technology, so we offer digital integration support—teaching basic computer use, email setup, online applications, CV creation, and essential digital literacy skills. We exist because too many young adults finish school with no pathway forward. Poverty, unemployment, and lack of training leave them vulnerable and discouraged. VSC bridges this gap by offering coaching, personal development, business support, and now a new 55m² workshop where youth can learn sewing, jewellery-making, knitting, and income-generating craft skills. Our mission is to build self-reliant, skilled, and empowered young people within their own community.

The sessions were conducted in a home-based community learning environment where participants received guidance, digital support, mentorship, and practical skills development. These moments reflect the organization’s commitment to empowering underserved individuals through accessible learning opportunities, confidence-building, and community-centered support. The photographs were later refined into professional presentation materials to help communicate the impact.
