Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Valuta Student Center (VSC) is a community-based youth empowerment and skills development organisation in Mthwalume. VSC provides practical support, digital access, training, and income-generating skills to young people who are not able to access further education or employment. Our Core Work: Information & Student Support Helping youth apply for school, bursaries, jobs, internships, learnerships, and digital opportunities. Digital Access & Digital Integration We provide digital integration support that gives youth access to essential online tools — including connectivity, devices, guided online applications, email setup, and digital literacy skills — empowering them to participate fully in the modern world. Skills Training & Income Generation Teaching practical skills that require little to no capital to start, such as: Sewing Jewellery-making Hat-making Knitting Small-enterprise basics These skills allow young people to generate income immediately. Entrepreneurship & Money Psychology Training Guiding youth to understand budgeting, pricing, goal-setting, self-discipline, spending habits, and how to start small ventures. Personal Development & Coaching Helping young people build confidence, purpose, values, and spiritual grounding in a safe community space. Market Linkage & Community Sales Helping youth sell what they produce, connecting them to buyers, and encouraging local trade and collaboration. ✅ WHY WE DO IT Because Mthwalume has thousands of youth graduating from high school each year, but: Most cannot afford to leave for the city. Many do not qualify for university or college. Job opportunities are extremely limited. Young people stay at home for years with no direction, no income, and no support. This leads to a rise in: Poverty Addiction Crime Gender-based violence Depression Teenage pregnancy Suicide There is untapped talent, but no bridge. VSC exists to become that bridge. Our purpose is to: Give young people a pathway, not just hope. Provide practical skills that can earn money immediately. Create a safe environment for growth, learning, and faith. Reduce poverty through skills, entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion. Shift youth from “sitting at home” to productive income-generating citizens. Strengthen the community by empowering its young people. ⭐ In one sentence: VSC exists to unlock the potential of Mthwalume youth by providing digital access, skills training, personal development, and income-generating opportunities — so no young person is left behind.
