Help The Hope Exchange by donating essential toiletries for our ablution facilities used by the homeless

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Every weekday morning, The Hope Exchange opens its ablution facilities for people living on the street. They can wash themselves and their clothing, and we provide them with essential toiletries. The Hope Exchange’s Social Care Team engages with clients in the mornings to encourage them to use our organisation’s many other services, which can lead to opportunities for positive change, hope, and dignity. Get together with your family, friends, church, sports club or other network to make a difference by sponsoring toiletries. The Hope Exchange invites you to drop them off at our premises on Mandela Day, and we will be honoured to give you a tour. (You are also welcome to drop your donation off on any other weekday.) Give us a call or send an email. Contact details: marie@thehopeexchange.org - +27 (0)74 618 3995

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
