Help Ebenhaeser Home for the Aged Cloetesville Stellenbosch by donating medical-grade flood proof mattresses for our frail elderly residents
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Established to serve the impoverished and historically disadvantaged community of Cloetesville and the broader Stellenbosch region, Huis Ebenhaeser provides essential 24-hour residential frail care. We accommodate 88 residents, the vast majority of whom are bedridden, highly dependent, and struggle with chronic illnesses and incontinence. The institutional mattresses currently in use are deeply compromised, holding moisture and presenting severe clinical challenges: • Public Health & Infection Risks: Saturated foam cores cannot be properly sanitized, exposing immune-compromised elderly residents to persistent bacterial and fungal risks. • Preventable Medical Escalations: Without medical grade pressure redistribution, residents face an aggressive risk of developing Stage 3 and 4 pressure ulcers (bedsores), which lead to avoidable hospitalisations. • Restoring Human Dignity: Sasol’s ethos is rooted in socio-economic upliftment. Eliminating the unsanitary living conditions caused by these degraded assets will immediately restore basic human dignity to 88 vulnerable citizens.
