Help Johannesburg Dream Center NPC by donating period packs for underprivileged girls experiencing their first period
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Johannesburg Dream Center is creating **Period Boxes for girls living below the breadline and attending fee-free schools**. These boxes will be placed at schools so that when a young girl gets her first period, she does not have to face that moment scared, embarrassed or without the essentials she needs. **Each Period Box includes:** * Sanitary pads * A clean pair of panties * Black short tights / ski pants to wear discreetly underneath her school dress * Body spray * A small chocolate treat * A handwritten letter of encouragement It may look like a small box, but to a young girl caught completely unprepared, it can mean **dignity, comfort, confidence and knowing that someone thought of her**. Individuals, families and corporate teams can help by donating any of the items above, sponsoring complete boxes or running a collection drive amongst colleagues. You can even make it a friendly team challenge — choose one item to collect in bulk or see which team, branch or department can help complete the most Period Boxes. Every donation helps us ensure that a young girl can experience her first period feeling **prepared, supported, seen and cared for**. **Because every girl deserves to enter womanhood with dignity.**

Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
