Help Techways by Empowering Youth with Laptops & Headphones for Underprivileged School Students
Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
At TechWays, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive in the digital age—regardless of their background. Through our Web Development Programme, we work with underprivileged schools across South Africa, equipping youth with real-world tech skills that open doors to future careers in the digital economy. As our reach grows, so does the need for reliable laptops and earphones—essential tools that allow our students to code, design, attend virtual sessions, and interact with global tech platforms. We’re reaching out to invite you to donate new or good-condition laptops and earphones to support the next generation of digital creators. Your contribution will go directly into the hands of eager learners who are already showing remarkable potential and determination. How You Can Help: Donate laptops (working, no older than 5 years, minimum 4GB RAM) Donate headphones/earphones (with built-in mic if possible) Support financially so we can purchase devices where needed Every device donated is a step toward bridging the digital divide and giving a young person the tools to take a seat at the table in our fast-evolving, AI-driven world.
Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
