Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
CARE PACKS Our care-packs are made up of toiletry items which some patients may not have readily available. The care-packs are decorated and handed out to the patient on arrival to welcome them into the 24-hour Support Care Centre. This ensures that they have any toiletry items needed during their stay, and that their dignity is maintained. We aim is to collect 67 care packs. We invite you to join us in-person on 18 July at Helderberg Hospice to pack and decorate these, or you can donate towards the content of the care packs (specific items listed below, or R167 per pack). Contents of the Care packs: - Shaving cream (smallest size) and disposable razor - Roll on (men and women, smallest size) - Face cloth - Bath soap (bar) (unscented, smallest size) - Toothbrush and Tooth - Aqueous cream (unscented, smallest size) - Lip ice Visit our website on this link https://helderberghospice.org.za/event/mandela-day/ contact us on 021 852 4608, or email donate@helderberghospice.org.za or events@helderberghospice.org.za.
Helpful tips
Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
