Youth Employment & Paid Work-Integrated Learning Programme Thokoza Progressive Youth (NPO 070-349) 1. Executive Summary Thokoza Progressive Youth (TPY) is implementing a structured Youth Employment & Paid Work-Integrated Learning Programme to bridge the gap between training and employment. This-initiative provides paid internships, mentorship, and structured workplace exposure to unemployed youth aged 18–35 in township communities. 2. The Challenge Many young people complete skills programmes but remain unemployed due to lack of workplace exposure, professional references, and income opportunities. Certificates alone are not translating into employment outcomes. 3. Programme Model The programme integrates training with paid workplace experience within TPY service units including ICT, Solar & Technical Services, Administration, Media & Marketing, and Community Outreach. Participants receive stipends, supervision, mentorship, and structured performance evaluations. 4. Target Beneficiaries Unemployed youth aged 18–35 from Thokoza, Vosloorus, Katlehong and surrounding communities,particularly graduates of TPY training programmes. 5. Corporate Partnership Option 1: Intern Sponsorship Corporate partners may sponsor one youth for a structured 3–6 month paid placement. Sponsorship covers stipend, supervision, tools, mentorship, and monitoring & reporting. 6. Budget Framework (Indicative) Estimated investment per intern for a 3-month placement ranges between R3,000 – R9,000 depending on role and supervision requirements. A detailed budget breakdown is available upon request. 7. Expected Outcomes Youth gain paid work experience, income, professional discipline, and improved employability. The programme contributes to job creation, economic participation, and township development. 8. Monitoring & Reporting Corporate partners receive beneficiary profiles, monthly progress reports, performance evaluations,financial accountability reports, and impact summaries. 9. Alignment This programme aligns with Corporate Social Investment (CSI), ESG priorities, B-BBEE Skills,Development and Socio-Economic Development objectives, and SDGs 4 & 8.
