Construction of three (3) eco-bricks buildings at 108m² ECD, 120m² Vocational centres and 144m² after learning school centre respectively. Each building is made up of 3 classrooms block designed using a hybrid construction system combining reinforced concrete, clay brick structural zones, and eco-friendly Eco-brick infill. The centre will use approximately 200 000 Eco-bricks diverting 121 tons of waste plastic from the landfills. 110 tCO2 emission will be saved from the environment. Roof Rain Water harvesting and Solar PV system, 10kW system and waterless eco-toilets will be implemented. The project reduces carbon emissions, promotes circular economy principles, improves waste management, and delivers safe and durable educational infrastructure for children. Impact on Environment Use of construction waste materials or rubble during construction Use of solar PV electricity instead of grid electricity Use of roof rain water harvesting vs municipality water Recycling/upcycling of carpentry waste materials Composting using food waste Use of eco- toilets or waterless toilets Cleaning up events to keep the community free from litter Upcycling/recycling of waste textile materials for sewing projects Use of non-compliant bottles for jewellery, décor and furniture making Impact on Education Access to better quality education by enabling; +-200 children will benefit from the below Age 1-5 will access the ECD Centre Age grade 1 – 12 will benefit from extra lessons Technology training (Robotics, AI, Coding training) Impact on Communities Financial upliftment and inclusion by enabling; +-50 jobs yearly to be created through vocational training focusing on empowering women and youth Community gardening and education impacting +- 400 families Entrepreneurship training for both primary & high school students, and vocational centre trainees +- 30 jobs created during the construction process Over 2000 people will be trained in plastic pollution and ecobrick making awareness workshops
