Help Feral Watch And Tnr raise R2,200 for Collar injury

Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Graphic photo content. Early Thursday morning we received a message about a cat at Seeff Properties Secunda with what looked like an injured leg and in need of help. We rushed over as soon as possible, but she had crawled under a wooden structure and there were too many feet moving around with banners and activity at the premises. A trap was set and after business hours closed to be , reset again the following day. Just after 8 this morning she was finally caught. Lana Gabrielsen collected her immediately and rushed her to Innovavet Veterinary Clinic . Sadly, one of our biggest fears with collars had come true — her leg had slipped through the collar but she couldn’t get it out again. The collar had rubbed into her tissue, leaving a painful wound. She is now safe in our care and receiving treatment. She’s a healthy weight, sterilised, and clearly belonged to someone — she even had a collar. This sweet girl must have an owner out there. Any one of the Feral Watch And TNR (Secunda Mpumalanga) team can be contacted should you think she might be yours. Please if you do use a collar, ensure it's a breakaway collar that in these situations it can brake loose. Thank you to all who have been involved in her rescue. ⛔ A cat should only use a breakaway collar because it’s designed to snap open if the collar gets caught on something. This prevents the cat from choking, strangling, or injuring itself while climbing, playing, or exploring. Regular collars don’t release, so they can be dangerous and even fatal if the cat gets stuck. 👉 Safety first: breakaway = life-saving.
