Offer description

I am a senior manager at Media24 and currently doing a Master’s degree in Leadership Coaching through Stellenbosch Business School. As part of our certification, we need to log a certain number of pro-bono coaching sessions, and I am approaching NGOs and NPOs to volunteer free coaching sessions to staff members or beneficiaries. I can offer two coaching sessions (1 hour each) per week over 12 weeks. I hope to give something back to those who give so much, and I want make working towards my certification a meaningful process. I include some details about leadership coaching and my approach below. Many thanks Ben Viljoen 0741132835 Linked-in: www.linkedin.com/in/ben-viljoen-a0a8b817b What is Leadership Coaching? Leadership Coaching involves a structured conversation where the client and coach work together to set and achieve goals, overcome obstacles or create strategies for personal or professional growth. It is different from therapy in that it is not diagnostic, and distinct from mentoring in that it is non-directive: the aim is not to tell someone what to do, but rather to listen and guide a conversation around the needs of the client. Who is it for? Leadership Coaching is for anyone who may need to discover the leader within or develop their confidence and discover their potential. It is not just for people in leadership positions; it is for anyone who can find value in a constructive conversation that builds confidence and reduces stress. How does it work? Coaching is one-on-one and takes place in 1-hour sessions. It can be an individual session or a series of sessions, depending on the client’s needs. Sessions can take place online or, if in Cape Town or surrounds, we can do sessions in person. Sessions are 100% confidential. There may be some information given to the coach prior to the session, and any feedback to management would be limited and subject to agreement. More about me: • I hold a degree in Psychology and am currently enrolled in an MPhil in Leadership Coaching • I have almost 20 years’ experience as a manager in a corporate environment • My approach is collaborative, and I always act with kindness and understanding • My passion is helping people unlock their potential and act with self-awareness and compassion • My preferred coaching language is English, but I can also coach in Afrikaans if required

Individual's background

My name is Ben Viljoen. I am 48 years old, a senior manager in a large corporation and currently enrolled for a Master's degree in Leadership Coaching at Stellenbosch University. I have a substantial background in teaching and am passionate about helping people build confidence and self-awareness. Leadership Coaching gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution and use my skills to enable personal and professional growth in others. I am an excellent listener. I'm non-judgmental and connect well with a diverse range of people. Values I hold dear include fairness, openness and courage. I believe that people are generally good, and have a natural tendency towards self-actualization if they can overcome the internal barriers to growth. Leadership Coaching is a toolset to achieve this,
