Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

Participants broaden their artistic skills, practice developing art projects for children in need of healing, learn about the human being and its imbalances and gain an understanding of the value of creative development. The training focuses on empowering participants to be able to implement healing art classes in their respective disadvantaged communities immediately. Over the years our training modules have been refined based on our learning with children and collaboration with others in the development sector. After completing our entry module, Early Beginnings, participants qualify to become part of our Community Art Facilitators Network. Requirements for the completion of a module: 1. Participation in 8 workshop sessions of 3 hours each. 2. Facilitation of learned skills with a group of at least 7 children from a vulnerable community (of the trainee’s choice) for a minimum of 24 hours. 3. Monitoring and evaluation of community work as taught in training module/s 4. Submission of a portfolio of evidence (including learnings, lesson plans, artworks and photographic evidence). Please Note: - Orientation attendance is compulsory for anyone who wishes to join our Community Art Facilitator Training. - Once you have attended an orientation day, you will be subject to an interview and an intensive screening process will take place before you are considered for our entry module. - It is compulsory to complete the entry module (Early Beginnings), before having access to any of our other modules. - Most of our Orientation days will be held online. - After the orientation, you will be required to submit a homework exercise before we start the interview process - The application requires that you submit a police clearance certificate. Because these take a while to be processed, we will accept a receipt of your clearance application, until you receive the document. - The Butterfly Art Project reserves the right to decline and reserve applications for the CAF programme. - Kindly note, that once Community Art Facilitators are accepted into the CAF network, they are expected to provide the below in order to remain an active member of the network: - Provide evidence of a minimum of 24 hours of implementation time per year. - Provide either an attendance register or images of their implementation - Attend a minimum of 24 hours training (can be split over 3-hour workshops or made up of one full 24-hour training) - Supply BAP with at least 7 Child Development Assessment Forms with a minimum of three entries (a baseline entry and two end-of-term entries
