Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Volunteer Skills Needed at Our Animal Sanctuary The Animal Sanctuary forms a vital part of our children’s education and therapy programmes. The animals in our care have been rescued or abandoned and now depend on us for a safe and caring home. Maintaining the sanctuary is an ongoing responsibility. Shelters need to be created and repaired, fences must be maintained, and existing structures require regular work to ensure that both the children and animals remain safe. We are looking for volunteers with skills in: * Carpentry * Welding * Plumbing * General repairs and maintenance * Ceiling and flooring installation * Fencing and shelter construction Our most urgent projects include repairing and refitting fencing, as well as creating suitable shelters for the cats living on the property as well as shaded areas in the paddocks for the donkey's and horses. Several existing structures also need to be completed, with work including ceiling installation, shade netting installation, flooring, plumbing and fitting plywood boards to existing frames. We also require assistance with paddock maintenance, including treating wooden poles, painting and general cleaning. We can supply most of the materials needed for these projects. However, donations of ceiling boards, brandering, paint, pole treatment, shade netting, fencing and other building or maintenance supplies are always greatly appreciated. Whether you can offer a few hours of your time, a specialised skill or a donation of materials, your support will help us provide a safer environment for our animals and a valuable educational and therapeutic space for the children in our care.
