Here's a little more info about this opportunity...
Johannesburg Dream Center is seeking a qualified, independent professional to assist us on a pro bono basis with issuing an Independent Competent Person's Declaration in support of our B-BBEE compliance. We are a registered non-profit organisation that empowers vulnerable communities through job readiness programmes, CV creation, sewing training, computer literacy and poverty alleviation initiatives. We have already compiled our beneficiary records and supporting documentation. We are looking for someone with experience in accounting, auditing or B-BBEE verification to: • Review our beneficiary records and methodology. • Verify our beneficiary demographics for the applicable reporting period. • Issue an Independent Competent Person's Declaration. The work can be completed remotely, with a short virtual meeting if required, and is expected to take approximately 3–5 hours. Your expertise will help us strengthen our governance, meet corporate compliance requirements and continue building partnerships that enable us to create opportunities for thousands of people living in poverty. Thank you for considering using your professional skills to help us make a lasting impact.

Stay safe
- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
- 3. Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
- 4. Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
- 5. If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
- 6. Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
- 7. Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
