Here's a little more info about this opportunity...

As Mandela Day 2025 approaches, we’d love for you to partner with us – whether by volunteering, donating, or helping us spread the word. This year, each of our programmes has something special planned. From community clean-ups and outreach visits, or hosting fun, meaningful activities for the children – our teams are using this day to also give back to their own communities. We warmly welcome individuals, teams, and companies to: Volunteer at one of our centres Support a specific centre’s Mandela Day activity Or even sponsor materials or treats to help make the day extra special Ways you can lend a hand include: ✨ Cooking or serving meals 🧹 Cleaning and beautifying our centres 🌿 Helping with community vegetable gardens 🧥 Donating blankets and winter essentials 🔧 Assisting with small maintenance jobs Our centres are located in Manenberg, Bishop Lavis, Woodstock, Observatory, Mitchells Plain, and Khayelitsha – and we’d be thrilled to welcome you there!

Helpful tips

Stay safe

  1. 1Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
  2. 2When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
  3. 3Make sure that you are not left alone with someone that you have never met before.
  4. 4Know where you’re going. If you’re headed off the beaten track or into an unfamiliar part of town, be sure you have directions and a GPS or map book.
  5. 5If you feel unsafe, consult the person in charge and let him or her know.
  6. 6Avoid wearing expensive jewellery: it could get damaged, lost or stolen.
  7. 7Ask, ask, ask! If you’re worried about something or concerned about your safety in a certain situation, ask the person in charge.
