Volunteer Story Editors Needed: Help Young Authors Find Their Voice About Us We are a community-based educational organisation operating in the outskirts of Cape Town, dedicated to providing quality education and creating safe spaces where children can learn and grow. Through our programs, we've positively impacted over 1,000 children and helped 10 young learners become published authors. Our Mission Our mission is to provide quality education for learners in underserved communities by creating supportive environments where they can develop their skills, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover and share their unique story. Why We Need You We are currently seeking passionate volunteers to help edit stories written by our learners. These young writers have poured their hearts into their work, and with your guidance, their stories can truly shine. Volunteer Role: Story Editor What You'll Do: Review and edit stories written by learners (various age groups) Provide constructive feedback that encourages and builds confidence Help improve grammar, structure, and narrative flow Support young authors in developing their writing skills Contribute to preparing manuscripts for potential publication Time Commitment: Flexible hours that work with your schedule Remote editing opportunities available Estimated 2-5 hours per week (flexible based on your availability) What We're Looking For: Strong command of written English Experience with editing or teaching writing (preferred but not required) Patience and enthusiasm for working with young learners Commitment to providing encouraging, constructive feedback Passion for education and youth development What You'll Gain: The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in children's lives Experience in editorial work and mentorship The satisfaction of seeing young authors develop and potentially get published Connection with a dedicated community of educators and volunteers A letter of recognition for your volunteer service The Impact You'll Make Your time and expertise will help: Build confidence in young writers Improve literacy skills in our community Give children a voice and platform to share their stories Create future published authors Inspire a love of reading and writing Get Involved If our mission excites you and you'd like to help nurture the next generation of storytellers, we'd love to hear from you.

- 1. Don’t pass any personal information to people you haven’t met offline before.
- 2. When meeting one of your contacts offline for the first time, always be sure to arrange to meet in a public place.
